Radio Documentary: The Sounds of War

How does sound impact on the wartime experience of civilians and combatants? How can everyday sounds connect to wartime trauma? Conversely, how can they work to heal trauma, or manage that trauma as it is happening? In this radio documentary, Alina Kostrubitska interviews Dr Beryl Pong alongside other academics, civilians, and members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to explore the auditory landscape of wartime Ukraine, and how the sounds of war shape life at and beyond the battlefront.
